Most quality TPU paint protection film lasts 5 to 10 years. That is the honest window, and where a given car lands inside it depends on the film, the climate, and how the car is treated.
Material sets the ceiling. Good TPU with a UV-stable topcoat holds clarity for the better part of a decade, which is why we warranty ours against yellowing for 5 to 10 years. TPH gives you fewer years before the topcoat tires and clarity slips. PVC is the short straw, often turning yellow and brittle inside two or three years. If someone promises fifteen years, ask what the film is made of and what the warranty covers in writing.
Climate moves the number more than people expect. A car in Arizona sun takes a harder UV beating than one garaged in Seattle, and heat speeds up every kind of chemical breakdown. Coastal salt, road grime, and constant washing at a brush tunnel all shorten the life of the topcoat and the edges. Film on a daily driver ages faster than film on a weekend car. That is physics, not a defect.
Care matters too. Fresh bird droppings and bug guts are acidic and will etch a topcoat if they bake on for a week. A quick rinse keeps them off. Pressure washing straight into a film edge can lift it early. None of this is hard, but skipped maintenance is the reason a 10-year film sometimes tires at year six.
We will not tell you our film "lasts forever," because no honest film does. Build the job on TPU, set the customer's expectations at 5 to 10 years, and the film will quietly do its work while the car underneath stays clean. Set expectations on PVC and you are booking a warranty visit.
Our PPF ships fast from US stock, so the film reaches you and the car before the deal cools off.

FAQ
How long does PPF last on a car?
Quality TPU film lasts 5 to 10 years. Cheaper TPH gives you a few years less, and PVC often fails in two to three. Ours is warrantied against yellowing for 5 to 10 years.
Does climate affect how long PPF lasts?
Yes, a lot. Strong UV and heat, like Arizona or Florida sun, age the topcoat faster than a mild, garaged climate. Coastal salt and heavy washing shorten it too.
What makes PPF wear out faster?
Baked-on bird droppings and bug guts, pressure washing into film edges, constant sun, and skipped maintenance. Good care can push a film toward the top of its 5 to 10 year window.
