Start with stock and lead time. This is the quiet dealbreaker. A supplier with no local inventory means you turn down jobs while a container crosses the ocean. Ask where the film sits today. Ours ships fast from US stock, so you book work this week and install it, no six-week wait.

Check the material, not the marketing. Ask what the film is actually made of. Real PPF is TPU, and the good stuff runs on a Lubrizol, BASF, or Covestro base. If a supplier can't name their base resin or dodges the question, walk. Ask about the topcoat too. You want genuine self-healing that closes swirl marks with heat, not a thin coating that scratches on the first wash.

Warranty tells you what they believe about their own film. Look for a written 5 to 10 year no-yellowing warranty you can pass to your customer. A vague promise with no paper behind it is worthless when a hood goes amber in year two.

Ask about MOQ and pricing honestly. A good factory scales with you instead of forcing a huge first order.
