The top PPF manufacturers and brands a distributor will be compared against are XPEL, 3M, SunTek, LLumar, STEK and HEXIS, with factory-direct makers such as TeckWrap and HIGHCOOL selling to shops that want more margin and control. There is no single best brand. The right one for you is the film your installers can lay down cleanly, whose warranty you can actually claim, and whose landed cost leaves room for profit.
This guide is not a ranking and not a lab test. We make PPF ourselves, so we do not score our own film against anyone else's. Below is what each brand publishes about its main film, checked on the brands' own pages in October 2026, and the questions to put to any supplier before you buy volume.
How to Select a PPF Supplier
Start with the material. Ask whether the film is aliphatic TPU, which TPU supplier makes the resin, and which adhesive sits under it. Ask for the current technical data sheet and how each roll is traced back to its batch.
Compare thickness on the same basis. Some suppliers quote the finished film without the liner, others quote the whole construction. A thicker film is not automatically better, and on tight curves it can be harder to work.
Then check self-healing and hydrophobic claims. Find out whether scratches heal at room temperature, in sunlight, or only with a heat gun or hot water. Water beading is a topcoat property, and how long it lasts depends on washing and climate.
Read the warranty for substance, not length. Look at what failures are covered, whether the car must be registered, whether fleets and commercial vehicles qualify, and who pays labor for removal and reinstall. A 12-year consumer warranty can still leave a shop paying for the redo.
Finally, price the whole job. Pattern software, training, freight, waste and rework all land on your cost. A premium dealer network suits a retail studio that sells on the brand name. A distributor that can test batches and run its own channel often gets more from a factory-direct supplier.

Brand Notes for B2B Buyers
XPEL
XPEL's strength is its system. The DAP software gives dealers a large pre-cut pattern library, and training and warranty handling are built around it. ULTIMATE PLUS is the 8 mil self-healing film most shops know. The cost is a premium price and dealer rules that limit your margin.
3M
3M is the name a procurement team or a car dealership rarely questions. Pro Series 200 carries a 10-year consumer warranty, heat-activated healing and a hydrophobic surface. Match the exact product code to the current regional warranty card, because terms differ between 3M film lines.
SunTek and LLumar
SunTek and LLumar both belong to Eastman Performance Films. SunTek Reaction and LLumar Valor each list a 12-year limited warranty and a super-hydrophobic topcoat, and Valor names Tetrashield. Since both come from the same parent, compare local distribution, training, stock and dealer pricing rather than assuming the logos mean different chemistry. Neither page lists thickness, so ask for the data sheet.
STEK
STEK's DYNO range covers gloss, matte and color films. DYNOshield is 8 mil TPU that heals with heat or hot water, with a 10-year warranty on the US page that rises to 12 years with STEK's ceramic coating. Get the registration and labor rules in writing for your market.
HEXIS BODYFENCE
HEXIS, a French maker, publishes a 180 µm BODYFENCEX film that heals at ambient temperature. Its lifetime guarantee comes with conditions, so a fleet buyer should read whether the terms cover commercial vehicles.
TeckWrap
TeckWrap sells TPU films in clear, matte and color directly to shops. Warranty and thickness differ by series, so buy by the exact product, not by brand, and test a sample before you scale up.
HIGHCOOL
HIGHCOOL is the factory behind this site, so read this part as a supplier describing itself. We make PPF in our own 20,000 m² factory in Shanghai. TPU comes from Lubrizol, BASF, Covestro or Wanhua depending on the grade. The Lubrizol, BASF and Covestro grades use Ashland adhesive. The Wanhua grade uses a domestic adhesive. Warranty runs 5 to 10 years by grade, and every roll carries its own code for warranty tracing.
What we do not offer is a famous consumer logo or a big pattern library of our own. What you get is factory-direct pricing, OEM and private label from 30 rolls per model, PPF stock in our US warehouse, and a quote within 12 business hours. Test our samples the same way you would test anyone else's.
If you want to put our film next to the brand you stock now, ask for free A4 samples (shipped from US sample stock, you pay shipping) through our contact page, or see the grades in our Paint Protection Film (PPF) collection.
FAQ
Which PPF brand is best?
No brand is best for every shop. XPEL leads on pattern software, 3M on name recognition, and SunTek, LLumar and STEK all sell hydrophobic flagship films with long warranties. Pick by installer skill, local support, warranty terms and installed cost.
Is factory-direct PPF good?
Factory-direct PPF can be good when the supplier names its TPU source, gives a current data sheet, keeps batches consistent and puts warranty terms in writing. It moves more testing work onto the buyer. Check stretch, clarity, orange peel, staining, healing and edge lift on samples before approving a batch.
Does a longer PPF warranty mean better film?
No, warranty length is a commercial promise, not a test result. A long consumer warranty may exclude labor, fleets, repainted panels or transfer to a new owner. Compare what is covered and who pays for the redo.
