Color PPF starts as clear TPU resin, not colored film that gets clear-coated after the fact. The color is built into the casting line itself, layer by layer, before the roll ever gets cut to width.
We run color PPF on a casting-grade TPU line, the same category of line used for clear paint protection film, just tuned for pigment dosing and multi-layer co-extrusion. Base resin comes from Lubrizol, BASF, and Covestro, the same suppliers most TPU film makers in this category use. What changes color to color is the pigment dispersion step and the topcoat formulation, not the base chemistry.
A cast color PPF roll runs 7.5 mil thick, finished at 1.52 meters by 15 meters, about 60 inches by 49 feet. That is the same footprint as our clear PPF, which matters if your installers are used to cutting clear and want colored stock that behaves the same way on the table.
Every roll carries a self-healing topcoat, so light swirl marks from a squeegee or a keying scratch settle out with heat, same as clear PPF. What is different is the pigment layer underneath. If that layer is not laid down evenly, you get batch to batch shift, the thing distributors worry about most when they are reordering a color six months after the first order.
That is why every roll gets a part number, a batch number, and a roll number printed in sections along the liner. If a shop calls back about a shade that looks off, we can trace it to the exact production run instead of guessing. We run 172 color PPF SKUs off this line, and the traceability is what keeps a reorder matching the first order.
Third-party CE, RoHS, REACH, and POPs reports exist for the TPU film, and the factory is ISO 9001. Ask us for those reports if your customer or import paperwork needs them on file.

FAQ
Is color PPF the same material as clear PPF?
Yes. Both run on the same casting-grade TPU line at 7.5 mil, 1.52 x 15 m. Color PPF adds a pigmented layer and color-matched topcoat, both still self-healing.
How do you keep a color consistent across batches?
Every roll is tagged with a part number, batch number, and roll number printed along the liner, so a reorder can be traced back to the exact production run if the shade ever looks off.
What warranty does color PPF carry?
Five years against defects in material and workmanship. Ask us for the spec sheet for the full terms before you quote a customer.
